MDJ Says: In our funny, different, silly little family of different shapes, smells, and sizes, we believe in the concept of “ohana” – because ohana means family; it means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.
MDJ: In this household, we’re taking a strong commitment towards living fitter, better lives – and because of ohana, that means our adorable little black teacup poodle Vader gets dragged along for the ride too.
Zee: We’re not actually at our healthiest now, and as much as we enjoy having bacon in every meal, it’s time for us to swallow that bitter pill and be healthier. And that includes the smallest, furriest, and 2-kilo member of our family. Because if he can do it, we all can!
MDJ: We think Vader is adorable. But to be brutally honest, he isn’t good for much apart from being cute, and chewing on pink fluffy things.
Zee: Yes, being a manipulative little cutie is his forte. Wait… that applies to everyone in this household.
MDJ: But we believe in his inner Sporty Spice. He has his moments; such as when he manages to escape from his leash when we go for a run at Bonifacio High Street.
Zee: He is actually really fast, and because he has the habit of provoking big dogs like labradors, dobermans, and bulldogs, I am thankful that he is. I think he actually enjoys outrunning them while they try to snap at his poofy little tail.
MDJ: Our little poodle has a death-wish, it would seem. But because we believe in our ability to commit to fit together, we’re signing him up for the 2013 edition of the annual Pet Express Doggie Run!
Zee: Joining a run isn’t something this family would normally do, so Vader will be our guinea pig and inspiration. My little girl Bea too, as she lacks faith in her mother, and doesn’t think I have enough energy to run as fast as Vader. She knows me well.
MDJ: The little furball isn’t exactly thrilled about it either, as his official Twitter account indicates, but his competitive spirit won’t allow him to lose against his arch-nemeses – the Chihuahua population of this world.
MDJ: We’re already planning his training regimen for the next couple of weeks, and contemplating on whether we take the leap and buy him his first set of real pet apparel – a cute pair of sneakers and a sporty-looking singlet, to catch the attention of all the lady Pomeranians that are sure to be there.
Zee: This is not going to be easy, but we will train for it. I believe our 6-inch, 2-kilo energy ball of a Sith puppy can do it. After all, he already has Coach Rio’s afro…
